We just returned from a stay at the Pepper Tree. After reading all the positive reviews, we were very excited about a stay here. I must say we were a little bit dissappointed when we arrived/entered the room. The room had a very strange odor when we opened the door (kind of moldy) so we opened the sliding glass door immediately. The rooms looked old and there was a lot of patched up spots on the walls and patched up carpet. This place has great potential and with some nice paint and carpet it would look like a four star property. I don't know what they did witht the kitchen cabinets, but they decided to sand off some of the paint; to make it look more rustic, I guess. It doesn't work for me.
Check-in was flawless and the clerk was very friendly. The pool was clean, as was the entire property.
We ate at the Mexican restaurant for dinner one night and I must say, it was one of the best tasting Mexican dishes I have ever had. My wife said that the Mango Margaritas were out of this world.
Avoid the complimentary continental breakfast - it's a joke.
If we would get a really good rate for the Pepper Tree, we would stay here again. Don't pay more then $70 night, there are better places to stay in.
Our friends stayed in one of the one bedroom suites and this is basically two regular rooms with a connecting door that has been opened. One room had the bed removed and had a couch and dining room in it.
