This was the best affordably priced, great location hotel I've stayed at. The checkin was smooth and fast (this was a family vacation and we reserved 6 rooms). The front desk clerks were very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. The rooms were big. They gave us 3 adjoing rooms that were side by side.
There was a laundry room here which was a big plus. The teenagers and children enjoyed the pool in the evenings. The Disneyland shuttle picks up right outside the front office on the curb. It was worth the $3 to ride it. When I arrived, my tv was black and white. I adjusted it myself but lost all the channels doing so. I called maintenance and he showed up immediately and took care of the problem. Although my ac and heater didn't seem to be working, I didn't need it as the room was comfortable. My family will definitely stay here again and we will tell others to stay here too.

Unfortunately, I was booked to stay in this hotel as I was with a large group so I had no choice but to stay. Check in was slow, agents behind counter seemed very irritated, room was very far away from front desk and difficult to get to with small children and a weeks worth of luggage/car seats with no one willing to assist. Room seemed clean, however the bathtub was flaking, blackmold was on ceiling and ants were present. AC was a very old window unit and very loud, location was fairly close to Disneyland and Downtown Disney (but that really did not matter to me), and the breakfast was full of starches. Hotel reps wanted to spray for ants with small children present (2 under 5) with a commercial bug killer - NO THANKS! Asked to be moved to a different room and it never happened.

Bottom line - there are so many other hotels in the area in the same price range...STAY AT THOSE.

I was pleasantly surprised at our room.
I did book the room through Disney Travel,
so maybe we got a better one than others.
The room was clean and neat.
The room had a fridge and microwave.
Beds were extremely comfortable.
Only comment would be the same as many-
poor water pressure in the shower and I heard another
guest complain that the air conditioner was weak.
We are not used to air- so we didn't need to use it.
Our balcony viewed the backside of California Adventure.
Way cool at night after we came back.
I bought the pass for the bus- but only took it once.
The walk was an easy block and 1/2 if you cut through
Grand Californian hotel. From that hotel you can scoot
into California Adventure without the big line from the front!
Otherwise- you end up in downtown Disney with the option
of entering the main park from the monorail or main gate.
Breakfast was busy in the morning- but always plenty of
food for my teenage boys.

Pros...Arrived at B.W. Stovalls about 2pm on Tuesday. No problems checking in an hour prior to check-in time. Check in was fast efficient, Kevin? at the counter was good- really can write upside down:)
Room was decent - very stuffy when we walked in but after 5 minutes of ac was fine. Fridge,microwave worked fine! Room was cleaned by 3 p.m. every day.
Never checked out continental breakfast because we are breakfast people and like a BIG full meal before hitting the parks! Cocos next door was good- ate breakfast there 3 days in a row- noticed there was a Dennys 1/2 block down the street but we did not eat there!
Pools were good but really cold....would only swim in HEAT of day.... hot tubs were nice and hot!
Our last day check out was at noon but our flight didnt leave until 7 p.m. so staff let us stow our luggage at front desk so we could get in a last 1/2 day at park!!
Would recommend for service, cleanliness etc. Bottom line its a best western not the ritz so no frills but clean and safe for the family.
Cons... closest convenience store/market is a block away and seemed kind of seedy! ( we just wanted some 2 litres of soda!!)
The walk (we did with 4 and 6 yr old) wasnt THAT bad if you cut through Grand California Hotel -we did it both ways every day..BUT..... we checked out the hotels on the other side and they are WAY closer.... would stay at one of them next time!!!
