“Luxury at bargain price”

My 4 friends and I stayed here in a 2 bedroom apartment. I booked based on the positive reviews and the excellent price and was not disappointed.

We arrived at 9am and didn't want to pay the extra half day surcharge for early check-in, so we left our bags with the staff and came back in the afternoon some R&R before dinner.

Our apartment was spacious, very modern and comfortable with all the luxuries of a hotel but without the crampness! Our bags were a bit slow to get up to us, and we had to call twice to see where they were. Also, the extra roll-out bed we had booked was not there and it took almost an hour for them to come up. But other than some slightly slow service, the place was excellent and with good amenities and a decent restaurant.

Location is not ideal for the commuters - takes about 15 minutes to walk to the subway and to the Night Bazaar. I'd suggest getting the free shuttle bus to the skytrain - runs once every hour. But I did like it that the hotel is in a very safe location with lots of embassies and businesses close by.

Book in advance if you can. I got my apartment at a discounted price through the hotels website (they do specials for Citibank customers) but you can also book through places like HotelClub.net although they did not have the 2 bedroom apartment I was looking for.

I'd definately return here in future and would recommend it to my friends and family.

“Spacious and clean room, convenient location”

We stayed in two bedroom unit. The place is quite but nice and clean. Our unit has a minimalist style but it's quite spacious to accommodate five adults and a baby.

The hotel has a shuttle bus service to Sala Daeng skytrain, so it's very convenient. Even when the shuttle bus is not operating, access to public transportation, eg tuk-tuk and taxi, is quite easy.

Nicely located, close to the Lumpini market (Suanlum night market) Silom Centre, and to some of the hip clubs in town.

“Modern, clean, excellent location and service.”

I stayed at the Somerset for a week between December 07 & January 2007. I highly recommend this place. It is located in Soi Suan Plau, of Satorn road, within walking distance to the Sky Train and close to Silom area. The hotel is very peaceful and quiet and offers a nice retreat after a day in the city.
The Somerset is clean, modern, the apartments, well equipped and decorated, have all the amenities and are very spacious and comfortable. They have a great pool and a decent gym as well.
The breakfast is a real treat in the morning with a large selection of Thai and Western foods, lots of fruits and excellent coffee.
The staff , either at the restaurant or at the front desk, is very nice, helpful and knowledgeable.
Definitely, in that price range, I doubt one will find a better place to stay in BKK. I will definitely go back to the Somerset.

This hotel is a gem...great, peaceful location off Sathorn, near Lumphini Park and 10 minutes walking distance from either Sala Deng or Chong Nonsi Skytrain stops (plus some Metro stops, but I didn't use Metro). It's suites, so for less than the price of the major hotels - we paid only $100/night! - you get a bedroom, living/dining room, kitchen with full appliances, and full bathroom. (Larger suites are available for families or longer stays.) Service is great, Internet is inexpensive, and there's a free gym and pool.

The restaurant is small and basic, so don't expect to eat meals here regularly - however you can easily go out and/or bring food in since there's a kitchen and dining area in your room.

There's a fantastic spa in the hotel...a wonderful 90-minute Thai massage was about $30.

I will definitely stay here again if back in Bangkok.

Bangkok is FULL of quality hotels and serviced appartments....this one is up there with the best.
Not 5 star but NOT five star prices either...a real good balance of location, quality and friendlyness.
i often visit Bangkok on business and this will become my prefered location for sure.
Give it a try...you can get better but not this well balanced.
