“Nice!”

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Stayed in the executive plus suite - fabulous views, access to club lounge and gorgeous full size crabtree & evelyn toiletries. Room had an extra toilet which was handy with 3 of us sharing the room.

The view was the best part of the room. The view of fireworks blasting off in front of the oriental and peninsula was a real treat. The fireworks even exploded in front of our window when it was sharaton's turn (sheraton is across the river).

Lounge provided all usual amenities, service of wait staff was average but the lounge desk staff were fantastic.

We had to catch an early flight out of Bangkok and was treated with packed breakfast from the hotel - impressive pack with sandwich, pastries and pack drink.

Downside of hotel was that taxi drivers tend to try and rip you off as you are on the 'opposite' side of the river so make sure that they turn their meter on before hopping in any taxis.

Hotel shuttle to BTS Skytrain was fantastic.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on our way back from Hua Hin and have to say it was simply amazing. We upgraded to a suite on the 20th floor which was stunning with large lounge area and open bathroom plus gives you access to the club lounge which really topped off our whole experience especially the early evening canapes and cocktails!!
The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the sky train via the free shuttle boat and the roof top bar is definatley worth a visit.
During our stay we booked a table for dinner at Sirocco on 63rd Floor of Lebuna Tower, if you are celebrating like we were this place is out of this world - the food - the service but most of all the roof top setting!!

“The best hotel I have stayed in”

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Jul 16, 2008

We have stayed in bangkok a number of times and this hotel suited us down to the ground. It's location is close enough to the centre and by using the river ferry's you can get most places quickly. You get the feeling you can retreat from bustling Bangkok across the river . The rooms are superb, the staff are very friendly and not over the top! The food is great and the choice at breakfast is immense.

“Brilliant”

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Jul 13, 2008

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the Millennium Hilton was superb. The staff could not do enough for you and were always on hand to look after your every need. The pool is a little small and sunbeds in the sun are the first to go but this is the price you pay to be in a business hotel without children over a resort hotel.
Grill and Japanese restaurants in the hotel are excellant, if not a little pricey.
Top tip - Get the boat over the river instead of Taxi's to avoid sitting in traffic for 30mins.

We loved this hotel and will probably stay there again on our return.

“Superb hotel”

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Excellent - apparently a 4 star but could definitely compete with the best of the 5 stars and for the price - we paid <£90 per night must be the best value in Bangkok

Best hotel stayed in in Asia by far. Rooms have super views of the river and the city - ask for a room on floors 20 and above facing South and you will spend hours just watching the activities on the river and the river bank. Only small complaints is internet is expensive as is breakfast.

Rooms - can't complain about anything here, big windows, good size, comfy bed and new. Bathroom new with great power shower.

Reception - e-mail ahead with room request and they will do their best to act on it. Helpful with directions and local info

Boat - free boat to either Skytrain terminal or River City every 10mins or so is useful

Restaurant - ground floor, great setting - ask for a la carte menu if not keen on the £20 buffet.....very reasonable for a hotel restaurant - thai dishes at £5

Bars - Skybar on top floor - superb views of the city, live jazz music and cocktails at £6-£8 not bad for the setting. There's also a bar on the 3rd floor which doubles up as a night club....quite empty but nice for a change.

Pool - infinity pool is awesome, staff great, snacks reasonably priced

Bangkok in general -
- watch for the addition of up to 15% to any prices in menus (taxes etc)
- buy a 1 day river pass from Skytrain terminal - £2 (120baht) for unlimited rides up and down the river for the day - most sites can be visited from the river bank stations (map provided with ticket)
- taxi drivers will try and rip you off - be firm and pay no more than 500 or 600 baht for taxi from airport (depending on whether you have car or minivan) and make sure this includes the tolls and surcharge
- dont buy the concierge/travel agent tours - you can do the tour yourself for about 1/4 of the price or if you really wanted to go on an organised tour, there are booths at the Skytrain station who use the same tour companies and charge half the price
- river kwai trips - can be done yourself by going to the Nualampong train station and buying a ticket in advance (a few days notice needed) - not the most luxurious way of travelling but will cost less than £3 return

Will defintiely return to this hotel!
