Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenage daughters) have just returned from Sharm El Sheikh. We stayed at Mecure Luna Hotel on outskirts of Sharm about 5 minute taxi ride from Naama Bay which itself is very lively. Clean, well presented 3 star hotel and quite quiet. No frills but comfortable. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Lots of chioce on breakfast buffet. We were on B&B but had dinner a couple of times which was fine but nothing special. Diving and snorkelling was briliant. The water and corals and sea life is amazing. Took a 2 day trip to Cairo to see pyramids and Egyptian Museum. Brilliant and unforgettable experience. Went swimming with dolphins. Experienced desert safari which was fantastic. Boat trip for snorkelling at Ras Mohammed awesome. Diving instructor and boat crew were great. Beaches in Sharm are wonderful. People friendly but brace yourself for constant invitations (others may call it being hassled) to come inside shops, bars restaurants. Would return to Sharm and same hotel in a heartbeat.

Ive just returned from a weeks trip to Naarma Bay (Tropicana rosetta) in Sharm with my friend. We are two girls in our twenties and I thought I would pass on what we found:
Naarma Bay resort is very lively with hundreds of shops, bars and places to eat. Luckily we met some great people who live there and let us in on the best places to go.
Pascha is the main club and the best night to go is Thursday night. It doesnt get going til 12 and stays open til about 6.
There is a club in Habada (10 mins from Naarma Bay in taxi) called Castello and Friday night is Dolce Vita. It is very cool and busy and deffo worth the £3 taxi ride. The place is done out like a russian palace or something and there is an outside dancefloor and podium dancers.
Little Buddah is a very cool bar and restaurant in Naarma Bay. Wed is Ladies night and its free for girls (usually around £15) but Tuesday is also a good night. The food there is lovely too and the sushi is quite cheap compared to the UK.
The Black House Club in Rosetta is a bit dodgy most nights as its full of lechy men but Sunday night is actually really cool. It plays R&B and there are dancers and its cheaper than a lot of the big clubs which can really be very dear.
If you are still up for it after the clubs close (around 4am) there is an after hours club on the main road out of Naarma Bay called Kamanga. We stayed til 7am one night!!!
Camel Bar is popular with the Brits and has a good roof terrace. Its Ok early on before a club but its a bit less classy than some of the other places.
Food wise if you are fussy dont worry as there are loads of western choices including the usual Maccies, KFC Hard Rock, TGIs etc. I would recommend Tam Tam on the prom in Naarma. It has great traditional food and a live free show on the Wed and Sun and a banquet for around £9 where you can try all the mezzes.
Panorama Bar is good if you want to smoke a Shisha as the view is amazing, especially in the early evening. You can also have fab fresh mango juice here.
Weather wise we went in Jan and it was in the high 20s by day but be warned it goes dark early (5pm) and gets cold at night so deffo take warm clothes and jackets.
Overall, a great holiday and totally suitable for two girls on their own, so enjoy!!!!

Hi, recently we spent two weeks in Sharm el Sheihk and I can honestly say it was fantastic. The weather was 35 degrees on average so not to hot. We stayed at the coral beach hotel a four star venue. Staying on a DBB basis the food was nice and very varied. Beer is hard to come by in the shops but is cheap when you find it, hotel beers works out at about £2.50 a pint.
In regards to trips we vistited a monestry, and went quad biking in the dessert it was well good!
We also went on a two day trip to Cairo by coach we stay at a 4 star hotel and visited museum, pyramids and the light and sound show and a boat on the nile. The whole trip cost about £120 each excellent value.
Very relaxing holiday, locals really great people and friendly. DONT STAND ON CORAL! and finally cigs are cheap local cigs are 25p a pack and english cigs are £1.20.
One more place to try is a Casino great laugh and cheap bring Dollars or euros for Casino as Egyptian money not allowed in them can buy $1.00 chips(70p) and drink beer. Taxis are very ceap.

We've just returned from a 2 week holiday in Sharm. We had a fabulous time. We stayed at the Marriott (see seperate review on that) which is in Naama Bay, about a 15 min walk from the main street. The weather was great, between 80-90 the whole time. The beach is nice and clean, all partioned off for each hotel. The sea was warmish, you only had to walk out a few paces and the corals and fish were there - it was amazing - you definitely should snorkel while you are there, and I would recommend you wear sea shoes - we took our own but you could buy them there if you wanted.
Costs - alcohol isn't cheap, beer £2-2.50 for just under a pint, G&T £3.50, fresh juices £1.50. If you want to buy cigarettes, they were £8 for 200 malboro lights (in resort) or £10 at the airport. B&H were £15 (in resort) or £10 at the airport. I suggest you buy a visa when you get to the airport, £10 each, incase you want to go further afield.
Trips - we went quad biking in the desert (£35 each) which was great fun. We also went to St Catherines Monastry (£30 each including meal). Lots of boat trips on offer all at reasonable prices.
Hassle - we didn't get much, the usual trying to get you in their shop/restaurant but we found if you were polite and said no thankyou they wished you a good night and moved on to the next people - nothing like Turkey!!
