Having seen that Coswarth house was highly rated by previous visitors, we decided to give it a go. It's quite a while since we stayed in a guest house and had memories of candlewick bedspreads and fierce landladies, but this was very far removed from all that! Our room was very spacious and tastefully furnished; the bed was comfy but on the small side (we are used to a king-size and this was only a double). Although the bathroom was not en-suite, it was only just down the hallway and was just for our own use. There were complimentary toiletries and lovely soft towels. There was tea and coffee making equipment in the room, and breakfast is served in the room (no dining room). Everything was delicious, and on our arrival there was the nice touch of tea and home-made cakes. From the guest house it is only a short walk into Padstow, and there is the added bonus of off-road parking. We would definitely recommend staying here - much better value than Rick Stein's Seafood restaurant!!

We'd like to thank our guests for taking the time to write their positive review and we are delighted that they enjoyed their time with us.

Without wanting to seem ungrateful we didn't feel that describing our location as being in a housing estate really conveyed the correct image of our location.

We live a couple of minutes walk from the harbour on a residential street mostly comprising Victorian and Edwardian houses. We have neighbours on one side whose house does overlook our garden but on the other side of our garden we enjoy views of the Camel Estuary and the countryside beyond.

We hope that this doesn't seem ungrateful as we really do appreciate the time taken by guests to post comments on this site.

Kind regards

Mike and Mary

We stayed for one night in Coswarth House at the beginning of April, on the way to Falmouth.

We booked it on the strength of the reviews on Tripadvisor, so we knew it would be very nice. Not only can I concur with all of the reviews, but it exceeded expectations. As well as being a lovely B&B in its own right, it's the attention to detail that sets it apart from anywhere else we've ever stayed in.

Mike and Mary are lovely people - very friendly, yet very professional. When we arrived they took time to show us around our rooms, as well as helping us to choose somewhere to eat at night. Mary kindly booked a table for us in an excellent restaurant called Pescadou, which is highly recommended.

As our daughter was staying in her own room, Mary and Mike very kindly invited us to eat breakfast in their kitchen, so we could eat together, as breakfast is normally served in the rooms. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and we were made to feel very welcome, as Mike and Mary looked after us at the same time as preparing breakfasts for the other guests.

Padstow is a lovely place to stay and I would rate our experience of Coswarth House as 5 out of 5.

Be sure to book well ahead !

If you're looking for perfection and a little touch of luxury in a very relaxed atmosphere in Padstow and great value for money, then go no further than Coswarth House. Mike and Mary are very welcoming hosts from the start to the finish of your stay. They have paid great attention to the finer detail from the welcoming pot of tea/cakes, tastefully decorated bedrooms/bathrooms and their very lovely breakfast menu. All in all a very highly recommended experience - we would have no hesitation in staying here again in the future - my advice would be to book early - move over Rick.

We have just arrived home after a delightful stay 5 night at Coswarth House.
I can only echo all of the previous reviews. Mike and Mary have tried hard to think of everything that might be needed when you are away from home.
They are both really friendly and welcoming. We were given tea and cakes in our room when we arrived. Which was lovely after a long journey.
The house has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard. Everything is spotlessly clean. Lovely bed linen, fluffy thick towels, dressing gowns, hairdryer, iron, sewing kit and even a torch. Little treats left in your room, like wine for your arrival, cakes and pieces of fudge every afternoon. We even got a little bag of Easter eggs on Easter Sunday!
There is tea, coffee, chocolate etc plus fresh milk and water in the fridge.
The choice for breakfast is excellent, and was expertly prepared by Mike and served in our room every day by Mary. She always had time for a chat about our plans for the day, and offered suggestions to avoid the bad weather.
There are plenty of maps and leaflets left in the room, and a folder with local restaurant recommendations.
Padstow is a pretty place, with some nice walks along the coast. It has plenty of good quality restaurants and shops. The rest of the county is easily reachable from there.
All in all we had a lovely time despite horrible weather.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coswarth House to anyone.

“Perfect Break”

Coswarth House

You run out of superlatives for this place. What makes it so special are the little touches. So for example, I really enjoyed one of the breakfasts and quite unasked for, the recipe was written out for me. That's very unusual service. Both the room we stayed in (Estuary) and the bath are wonderful for views, the bed is comfy and the atmosphere warm. Nothing seems too much trouble for Mary or Mike and the additional touches - cakes and wine in the room made it very memorable.
