“A LOVELY CLEAN QUIET AND REALLY NICE HOTEL”

Tallaght Cross Hotel

5 of 5 stars
STOCKPORT
Jul 2, 2008

I and my partner stayed at this hotel from 28th June to 1 July 2008. I checked out reviews on this hotel at trip advisor before choosing. I choose it because of the good reviews from majority of people.
I was not disappointed at all. It is a new hotel, just a few months old. The rooms are clean, well decorated, and the bed comfortable. All the basics plus supply of tea and coffee making facilities and provisions as well.
The bathroom is adequately big, double size bath, a powerful shower and plentiful supply of hot water. All facilities are very modern, well maintained and clean. The room is air conditioned and functions very quietly. The area was very quiet. A few hundreds of meters away there is a good shopping center which will carter for all your needs including affordable food, UCI cinema and more.
Although the hotel is far from town, the tram services (Luas, Red line) is very very good. A tram almost every ten minutes. The journey takes about 40-45 minutes but relaxing.
Approach of staff was very professional and very much willing to help. I would return to this hotel if I am in Ireland again. The rate/price is also very good compared to other hotels of similar standards. I would recommend this hotel for any decent gentleman or lady, couple or a family.

“So So Hot!!!!”

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights during may, On my third night my key card would not work when i reported this to the receptionist she had presumed i had left altough the length of my stay was made clear from the booking process and all my stuff was still in the room, Breakfast was is not included in the stay i will just tell you this now because you will not be told on booking or on arival, the room it self was really nice and comfortable but it was so hot and the airconditioning was just there for show, the window would not stay open so i proped it open with a pen and the cleaners kept on closing it again so when i arrived back in the evening it was totally unbearable.
On the plus side the hotel is situated in a realy nice part of the town and it is really handy if you are planning on traveling into Dublin as the luis is near enough outside the door and there is a really good shopping centre right across the road.

“Great hotel”

I can only add to all the positive reviews and recommend this hotel. Ver new, modern, pleasant and friendly staff. The only thing that I can note is that there was no hairdryer in the bathroom, and the lightning in the bathroom was very poor.
LUAS ride to the city is actually a very pleasant one, so these 45 min went by quickly.

“Wonderful stay”

Tallaght Cross Hotel

My daughter and I have just returned from a 4 night break in Dublin. We chose the Tallaght Cross Hotel because it was such good value - about £35 a night with expedia. The hotel is 35 - 45 minutes out of town (depending on traffic) , at the end of the Luas red line, but that was the only drawback. We bought 7 day Luas and bus tickets at €26 each - the aircoach alone is €12 return so the combined pass was very good value). The hotel was clean, fresh, modern, had free internet access, incredibly friendly and helpful staff and a good meal deal in the restaurant too (€69 for 3 courses, including a bottle of wine). We had trouble finding the ice machine (apparently it was broken) so the restaurant manager took us off to the (closed) restaurant to supply us with a bucketful. On another occasion we needed to send an 11 page fax back to the UK - no charge, and the receipted fax was delivered back to our room within minutes of having been sent. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel; there is a Marks and Spencers 2 minutes away, complete with cafe and food hall. We went to the multiplex cinema one evening (5 minutes walk away) and ate at Captain Americas on two occasions (about 3 minutes away). My daughter is a student, so their drinks were half-price on the Wednesday night, which is student night. There was some hilarious karaoke afterwards (not that we got involved, but it WAS entertaining). All in all, I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is willing to make the journey to and from the city centre.

“Great hotel, Fabulously friendly irish staff!”

Tallaght Cross Hotel

Just arrived home after a long weekend in Dublin which we spent at the Tallaght Cross Hotel. Only opened for 3 months, the hotel is rated as a 3 star, however this is only because their bathrooms are apparently too small to make 4 or more stars! however the bathroom was plenty big enough for us and the rest of the room is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The restaurant food is pleasant and the V bar a great place to relax early evening. The hotel is well situated for the Luas line and has it's own car park should you bring a car - just remember to get your ticket validated by reception to lower the car park rates! The reception staff were very friendly and helpful; particularly the Irish girls, and especially Alison. Alison couldn't do enough to help us, offering advice on days out, restaurants to eat in and even just spending a few minutes having a friendly chat and giggle on our way in/out of the hotel, she brightened our stay and made us very welcome. The only downside to our stay was the number of eastern european staff who weren't really as friendly as the irish staff and came across a little distant/uninterested at times, possibly because their english wasn't very good(?). Over all though we had a fabulous time, made all the better by the traditional friendly irish welcome. We'd recommend this hotel, it certainly is a hidden gem given it's rating and prices.
