This is a modest Inn amongst ritzier establishments. We were looking for somewhere to sleep for two nights at a reasonable cost. This was acheived. We had read the reviews which commented on the small rooms but this still did not prepare us for just how small they are! Shoebox size. No sofa, just an incredibly comfortable bed and a very small table and 2 chairs which really served as a bedside table as there wasn't room to sit around it.. Worse for us was that there was not even the smallest of decks, absolutely nowhere to get outside unless you want to go to the beach. The room was dark even with all the lights on and only one small window. Very very clean and beautifully and spotlessly presented. Not for you if you are claustaphobic or of large build. (fortunately we are neither).
On the up side, the beach and setting is beautiful. A one minute walk to the beach which joins up with walkways in both directions.

My husband and I spent 9 nights at the Oceanfront Inn in early February. We are budget-conscious travelers, did our homework, and crossed our fingers that the Oceanfront Inn would be alright for us. It exceeded our expectations! The rooms, although very small, were comfortable and clean. We had plenty of room for all our stuff, once we got ourselves organized. Yes, the bed is just wonderful! The room has a small microwave, a small fridge, hair dryer, generous-sized room safe, and coffee. What more could we need? We were well taken care of!

The beach at the motel is a real gem! Plenty of beach walking can be done, plus pretty good snorkeling (I swam with lots of sea turtles!), and great whale-watching (bring your binoculars) and sunset views. Sunsets at this beach are a real event, as you will see! The grounds are very well-groomed. We had a great time there, in addition to hopping lots of other beaches.

The clean laundry room facilities were handy, as was the Internet access in the main lobby.

What you read in the reviews about the tiny rooms and the cramped parking...that's all true, but if you want to save some money, the Oceanfront Inn is a terrific choice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were delighted with the place and will definitely stay there again!

We needed a cheap place to stay for one night before heading to Hana, and I booked it solely because it was inexpensive but still on the beach (so we could enjoy a sunset our first night in Maui).

I was expecting somewhat of a "roach motel," but ended up being pleasantly surprised as to how clean it was. The receptionist and concierge were very kind and helpful. And we were able to walk the beautiful beach out front for hours--it went on forever. The biggest surprise for me was how comfortable the bed was--even more comfortable than a more expensive hotel we stayed at later in our trip. And the shower had plenty of hot water and great water pressure.

The downsides: small rooms, no pool, no ocean views to speak of, and if you go out for dinner when you get back the parking lot will be over-crowded because of the restaurant. But paying that kind of price on the beach in Maui?? Definitely a good buy!

I was in town for work but I snuck in a couple of days on the front & back end to enjoy Maui. On a budget, this hotel stuck out and I couldn't believe that the location is what it was chocked up to be. But I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the room was tiny but it was ON THE BEACH. It was clean and tidy. For work, I was able to get intermittent internet access. Close to Wailea my fiance and I were able to head over there for a luau. We dinned at the restaurant on site and at the neighboring hotel's cafe as well - both were great. It was nice to just get dressed and head over to a nice meal. I wrote this review because I saw that there were some negative postings about it & I wanted to share my very positive experience instead. So I agree, its a bit of a stretch to call it a "hotel" but for the price, the location and the value I would return to this little "hotel" again.
