My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Bullfinch. I booked it after reading a few reviews on tripadvisor and finding that it was one of the less expensive hotels in downtown Boston. We arrived to a courteous bellman who helped us with our baggage. Then, the desk attendant told us that they didn't have the room that I had booked! I was pissed! She told us that she would have to upgrade us to a room with a King Size bed. Yeah, right... I thought. Well, as it turned out, she DID upgrade us to a very nice room, one at the apex of the triangular hotel and the room was very nice. Crisp, clean, heavy sheets, very clean bathroom, etc.
One of the nicest things was some of the staff. The bellman was very friendly and helpful and got a map out and drew where we wanted to go and pointed out some other things (restaraunts, etc.) of where we might want to go.
Also the bar was nice for a drink of too. A little pricey but they also had some nice appetizer-type food. Try the little "slider" (mini-burgers). They were really good! The bartender was really fun to talk with - knew a lot about the area, the local sports teams (Red Sox, Celtics, etc.) so we all had a great time. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
