“Very good value hotel”

Midtown Hotel

5 of 5 stars
NE Essex, England
Jun 30, 2008

I was a bit worried about what the hotel would turn out like, considering some negative reviews, but was very happy with our stay, and would not hesitate to book this hotel again. We arrived quite early (before 2 pm) but there was no problem checking in at this time. The welcome at the front desk was extremely friendly. Check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was perfectly adequate for our requirements, clean and in good condition, with 2 double beds as requested, and shower/bath in good working order. We requested a non-smoking room and there was no smell of smoke in the room. We were not disturbed by noise during the night, apart from the occasional person in the corridor returning to their rooms, which you get in any hotel. Location was good, between Prudential and Symphony 'T' stations, and the nearby Prudential Centre was good for shopping and fast food/restaurants. Staff were without exception courteous and friendly, and we were genuinely sorry to leave.

“Perfectly Fine”

Midtown Hotel

Farmington

Stayed two nights while we attended games at Fenway Park to see the Cardinals play. The room we stayed in was clean. The beds were comfortable. Read other reviews that complained of noise. We didn't hear or see anyone while we were there but I know that they had full occupancy based on traffic in lobby.
If you are looking for a place simply to sleep, shower and shave then this is the place for you. If you are looking for something more fancy go somewhere else. For the price you can't beat this place.

“A few issues”

Midtown Hotel

2 of 5 stars
New York City
Jun 20, 2008

The location is certainly OK, but my two night stay had a few issues.

The AC in my room didn't work - it was a fan but the thermostat had broken long ago - and the Wifi at $9.95 a month didn't really work either, I had to stand by the door to get a signal.

It's very hard to find a hotel in Boston for less than $200 a night these days but this is one of them, but you get what you pay for, at least in my experience.

“A bit noisy but otherwise great stay..”

Midtown Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Melbourne, Australia
Jun 16, 2008

I and my husband stayed here for 5 nights during late May-early June.. it was at a great location in Back bay area (absolutely beautiful area) and near the Hynes convention centre which was where my conference was held..

We booked a room with 2 double beds (same price as a single double bed so we decided to go for a more spacious room) and it was spacious and clean.. the bathroom is quite small though.. but had pretty good water pressure.. however the wall was quite thin so if you have noisy neighbour (like we did), they will most likely keep you up all night...

The hotel was close to several train stations (different line so quite convenient).. we didn't have to use the subway much because everything is in walking distance.. only caught twice when we were too tired to walk back after a freedom trail walk.. and to the South Station with our lugguages..

Definitely would stay here again.. very convenient.. but hopefully next time we will have a more quiet neightbour..

“Great Location!”

Midtown Hotel

Jun 5, 2008

My wife and stayed here during our two day stop in Boston. I was wondering what I would get after reading some of the reviews but what the heck. It is old and drab as they say but we found it clean and safe. ALL the staff we meet were great . I guess everyone has issues with something and at times it can just be bad luck. For the price and the location it can't be beat!
Boston was fabulous!
