“authentic and friendly”

Pacific Shores Inn

Zurich, Switzerland

We had a pleasant time at this hotel. Staying in room 23, we had a partial view of the ocean with a patio out front with a big table, also with ocean view. We liked sitting out on the patio and watching people come and go, and in the evening, the hotel was like a little town of it's own, with people hanging out on their patio's and balconies, talking and laughing. This was very relaxing and had a very friendly feeling to it.
Our beds were very comfortable and only having a shower wasn't a problem at all. We loved having a window in our bathroom. Our room also had a huge closet space, which was great for putting all our clutter in and keeping our room neat.
The pool is a bit too small for laps, but it did its job. It was hardly ever crowded, as all people were mostly spending their time at the beach. The only thing that really bothered us was the maintenance guy not getting the pool ready by 9am – and saying he didn’t know it had to open then… with a big sign at the pool virtually screaming out the opening hours. Oh well.
All in all we had a great stay, and being able to walk to all the restaurants and the beach was great. Free parking is a great plus as well, although all those huge SUVs and trucks sometimes made parking very tricky.
We will definitely stay here again.

“AMAZING RATE FOR SUCH A GREAT GET AWAY EXPERIENCE!”

This place is absolutely amazing! I went with a friend to get away for a week and can I say how much fun i had just spending majority of the time at the beach (literally 10 steps away from the hotel!) Service was EXCELLENT! Everything was clean and the AC worked perfectly fine. They even let us check in early (10 AM) when check is is supposed to be at 3 or 4. Lovely staff! Just overall a great experience spent in San Diego!!

“Good Location”

After searching for hotels, reading reviews, etc. I decided to book a 2 night stay at the Pacific Shores Inn. I booked directly through the hotel website as some of the reviews I read had recommended this and I was able to get a better rate this way. Reviews I had read were mixed which made me a little skeptical, but my friend and I were wanting a place near the beach and the price was right. I must say, we were pleasantly surprised. It looks pretty much like any other smaller scale motel when you arrive, but the lobby has been recently updated and the staff was friendly. We had a first floor room which had recently been remodeled and quite nicely so. The room had two beds, a table and chairs, typical hotel furniture, a walk-in closet with microwave, refrigerator, iron/board, etc. and the bathroom featured ceramic tile, granite, and a glass shower (no tub). The room was clean and pleasant. We also had a table and chairs outside our room on the sidewalk. Location was great, 1/2 block to the beach. Some of the second floor rooms had an ocean view, but we found the ease of parking right outside our door nice. We were right across from the pool also which was nice. I believe they are still in the process of remodeling so you may want to request a room that has already been done. Overall, we had a fun time in Pacific Beach and were pleased with this lodging choice.

“Average motel”

I booked our stay with Expedia because they had a good deal with a saving of 15%. I have requested a room with 1 king bed per room description and I left a comment requesting a room at the upper level because I read on other reviews that they are bigger than ground leveled rooms. When I got at the h(m)otel I was told that they do not have king beds only queen beds and the ones at the upper level have 2 queen beds therefore are more expensive and that they did not have any left. I was assigned room 11 which is a detached unit by the pool. The room was much smaller, had a dampness smell and it was very noisy (you can hear the neighbours) and first night I could not even go to sleep until 2 am. In the morning there was some construction going on across the street, so, we had to wake up at 7 am. Also, in the room description it is said that there is an internet dial-up access which is not true so beware if you want to use your laptop. For the so-called "breakfast" you'll have just pastries, juice and coffee (small cups). There are no tables to sit to, so you'll have to carry the plate (we had to request for one) to your room. For the price and location the price was good, but I would try to book the hotel through their website and call in advance to make sure I can get a different room. The pool was out of order for the entire stay.

“Good price...”

Pacific Shores Inn

virginia,

The room was very spacious at a very good price. I have 2 queen beds with kitchenette and walk-in closet. This is an ideal hotel for a family with children. One problem I had was that my room was on the first floor so I can hear all the foot steps and the TV from the room above. The location is very nice, close to many restuarants and things to do. Less than 30 seconds walk to the beach! and less than 20 minutes away from downtown.
