“Charming hotel near the action!”

Prince Conti Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Lake Charles, LA
Jun 18, 2008

Since we got a room at this hotel for a very reasonable rate, I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is quaint and has an antique charm. The details on the doors, big brass keys, and croissant breakfast made this hotel a nice place to stay. We ate at the adjoining restaurant, The Bombay Club and sat in a cozy booth while a gentleman played the piano under a blue light. They are famous for their many varieties of martinis. It was great! The hotel is half a block from Bourbon Street (the busy part), and has valet parking. Our room didn't have a view (you pay extra for those rooms), but we weren't in it enough to even notice. I highly recommend this hotel! I will definitely stay at this hotel next time I go to New Orleans.

“Nice hotel and a great location”

Prince Conti Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Westminster, MA
Jun 17, 2008

We just came back from a week at the Prince Conti Hotel. The hotel was in a great location, only about 1/2 block off Bourbon but miles away from any noise. The room, which was on the third floor, was clean and in a very quiet part of the hotel. The lobby had the USA Today and the local paper every morning along with many tourist brochures, which I found to be helpful. Breakfast was across from the lobby and featured croissant, pastries, orange juice, coffee, tea, apples and oranges which was enough to fill you up to begin your day. The front desk was very helpful in calling taxis and as I arrived at the hotel a little early, they asked the maid service to clean my room as soon as possible and then called me when my room was ready. And if it got too hot, they said I may use one of the pools at their sister hotels Place D'Arms or Hotel St Marie. Walking to anywhere in the French Quarter and surrounding areas was easy. It was nice to see more progress in and around the French Quarter and Canal Street. More new hotels and more new businesses and it was even busier than previous visits. Airboat Adventures was a great time and strongly recommended. The guides know their stuff and are on first names basis with the alligators, which can venture up on to the boats, but you will not be harmed. The Natchez Steamboat is lazy fun going down the river with a drink in hand. You cannot get better food than Commander's Palace, that was the best meal I have ever eaten. Court of the Two Sisters Brunch, Brennans and The Gumbo Shop are also top notch. They are still working on the French Market but it is looking good with more vendors. New Orleans is coming back and I am glad to help in this venture.

“What a great place for a French Quarter stay!”

Prince Conti Hotel

4 of 5 stars
San Antonio
Jun 17, 2008

Booked "run of the house" on Travelocity to add a spur of the moment additional night onto my daughter's 21st birthday trip ( wanted her to wake up in NOLA on her birthday! ) What a treat.

First, free valet parking couldn't be beat, included with the Travelocity booking. Check in was easy, and adding an additional guest to our room was fast & no hassle! There was 1 elevator to the upper levels. The "real" keys were great, easy to slip into a pocket. And our room, WOW. When I booked "run of the house" I didn't expect much. I even called 3 days before our trip & confirmed that the hotel had our reservation. I had to run out to the car, and my daughter & her friend went up to the room before I did. I opened the door, and again, WOW.

Room 251 faces Conti St. We had a 2 room suite, the "living room" had a sofa bed with 2 end tables, 2 large chairs, coffee table and armoire with a TV. The bathroom, attached to the living room, was nice, with the vanity area separate from the tub & toilet. The room had pocket doors between the living area & bedroom, which had 2 very comfortable beds with nightstands, desk with a chair, 2 more large chairs, another armoire with another TV and a small table holding the coffee maker. We had an exposed brick fireplace, and 5, count them, 5 huge windows! The rooms had tall ceilings with ceiling fans, and plenty of lamps.

The room was very quiet, with the most street noise coming from car stereos on the street, and also from an ambulance driver trying to get traffice to move out of the way. The view was of Broussard's, and 2 large palm trees. The windows had great drapes, altho access to the drape pulls was a little challenging at some of the windows, had to move the chairs to get to them. There were no closet doors. The room had 1 luggage rack, and an iron and ironing board. There were extra pillows and blanket for the sofa bed, and plenty of towels, and nice toiletries. The room was very clean. There was an ice machine down the hall, and a soda and snack machine.

Breakfast was a pretty good continental breakfast, coffee, tea, orange juice, croissants, pastries, fruit, with jams and jellies at each table. We got a coupon on check-in for a free appetizer or bottle of wine with dinner at the in-house restaurant. The bistro advertised 42 ( I think) martinis!!

The server at breakfast was the person who told us about being able to use the pool at the Conti "sister" hotel further into the Quarter, information that I guess should have come from the front desk, but as we were only staying 1 night wasn't really an issue for us.

We didn't use the internet at all. The valet parking staff was very polite, and very quick getting our car. The location couldn't be beat, making a late night on Bourbon Street an easy option. The hotel is right down the street from the Vieux Carre police station.

Great place, will definitely go back.

“We very much enjoyed our stay. Great location.”

Prince Conti Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Mississauga, Canada
Jun 16, 2008

We spent three nights at the Prince Conti from 06/12 to 06/15. We were on the third floor in in the middle of the hotel. Two double beds and a view of other rooms and a small roof top. The room was a decent size and they were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The washroom was on the small size but we didn't live in it so it was fine. Not a lot of space for toiletries, only a small glass shelf.

The only noise we heard was from the adjoining room one night from some drunken guests. This was not the hotels fault and they addressed it. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. We had an extra charge upon check out and it was taken care of efficiently.

We were very pleased with this hotel because it has some character. If you want a fancy, full amenities hotel then you should look elsewhere. If you want a clean, friendly hotel in a great location then stay at the Price Conti. For the price I don't think it can be beat.

We had a little bit of apprehension, but everything turned out great. The room was a bit small, with a bed, closet, and TV, but what else do you need in New Orleans. The mattress was excellent. The room was clean. The bathroom was large and very nice. There was some street noise on Saturday night but, hey, it's Bourbon Street. You can't complain about that. The Staff was nice. The location was excellent.. Great continental breakfast. We'll be back.
