“Room not cleaned daily”

La Quinta Inn and Suites Downtown New Orleans

2 of 5 stars
Moorestown
Feb 8, 2008

I stayed for 6 nights and the room was only cleaned 3 of those, and that was only after asking for them to clean it. I had to call down 2 nights to get fresh towels for the next morning since it was never cleaned, the bed never made, and trash never emptied. I personally would not stay in this hotel again. I also was not the only one with a problem. I saw another room who put their dirty towels out in the hallway, and a friend that checked in and had to change their room 2 times because it was not cleaned when they sent him up to it. The only bonus is the location to the French Quarter, Bourbon St, and the river.

“Worst ever experience”

La Quinta Inn and Suites Downtown New Orleans

I have reserved a room in this hotel 2 months in advance for a meeting in New Orleans. When I went there I learned that they were overbooked and there was no room available for me. They said I can stay in another unknown hotel which is 15 minutes drive away from downtown. Since location was my priority while I was choosing my hotel and I have already paid extra money to stay in the downtown, I did not want to pay extra money for transportation to and from my meeting everyday. Also I thought staying with my friends in the downtown would be safer than some hotel in somewhere and I asked my deposit money back. Guess what! I did not get it yet. After 2 months of struggling I can get a hold of assisstants who did not do anything for another 2 months.
Also from the phone calls I made I learned that customer satisfaction is not their policy at all. They are so overgready that they can show me as no show although I have the print out of my reservation with a letterhead, date and time on it.
This was my worst experience with a hotel ever. I will never book a La Quinta room again.

“OK”

La Quinta Inn and Suites Downtown New Orleans

The hotel had a great location and was generally fine. They had wireless in the lobby but not in the rooms which would have made things better. The staff was helpful and directed me to a great local restaurant--Mothers--which was a big plus. I had a very early flight and called the desk at 0445 to book a taxi--no answer. I put on clothes and went to the lobby to find it abandoned except for a security guard who called the taxi. When I came back down, the driver commented that he had been there for 15 min and seen noone. Just dropped the card and left but found it somewhat disconcerting that there was no staff person on duty with the doors fully accessible.

“In my opinion this is better than a 2 star hotel.”

La Quinta Inn and Suites Downtown New Orleans

Jan 22, 2008

I think this is a great value. I am confused by it being a 2 star hotel. I think it is better than that. It was new, clean, large rooms, decent breakfast and great location. Comparing it to other New Orleans hotels I think the condition is above average.

“Clean, cheap, modern - great value near French Quarter!”

I always look for hotels that are reasonably priced and well-located when I travel. We stayed at this hotel for only $100 per night during the Memorial Day weekend, and thought it was a great deal. It is just a short 5-minute walk to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, and the rooms are actually very nice and modern for a 2-star hotel. It's in a high-rise building, right next to some other major hotels, and the room rate included a simple breakfast (we only made it for breakfast once since it closed at 10am, and there wasn't much selection close to closing time).

The only issue we had is that they didn't have any rooms with 2 beds even though we made our reservations several months ahead and I called to confirm the day before. However, they moved us to a bed with two beds the next night.

Would definitely recommend others to stay here if you're looking for a clean, simple room, close to the French Quarter, and a hotel for around $100 that seems nicer than 2 stars.
