ValueGrand Hyatt Seattle is a must-stay hotel in Seattle. Nothing to complain. Great location, facility and service as well.
When we checked in, our assigned room was found to be "Not Ready". Bell desk rep who helped us with luggage instantaneously guided us to new room and offered 'Club Hyatt' access to compensate the inconvenience we might had. Everything was clean and neat, and Starbucks is in the building(Of course, it's Seattle)
Highly recommended !!!

Business serviceI just returned from a weekend away at the Grand Hyatt-Seattle. Here is my breakdown of the hotel.
Pro's-
1) Able to check in early, arrived at 12 pm and the front desk graciously let us check-in. She even had a smile on her face and was very professional
2) Ruth's Chris has a tremendous happy hour menu and is attached to the lobby of the Hyatt. Great place and SO much better than the usual hotel restaurants
3) The bathrooms are incredible. My room on the 20th floor had both a bathtub and walk in shower.
4) The 32 inch LG LCD tv was a plus
5) The beds are very comfortable. (but not as great as the Marriot beds)
6) The concierge Scott was a good guy and very helpful
Con's
1) Upon check-out, my friend asked the bell-hop to bring the bags out of the temporary storage to him. He brought the 3 bags to him while I was at the Concierge and it looked as if the bags were just dropped down in a reckless manner. Also, the porter didn't offer to help us with our bags to the cab and just went back to 'stand at attention'. The experience only affirms my belief that it's best to always handle your own bags at all times.
2) There were two staff members 'standing at attention' in the lobby, but NOT opening doors or offering to help you with your bags in a gracious way. I was reminded of the Vegas 'tip for everything' mentality rather than feeling that the staff was genuinely eager to help. I tend to appreciate when people are a bit more pro-active.

Business serviceAfter booking various Westins throughout the states on points and being terribly let down we decided to book the Seattle Grand Hyatt on points for our couple weekend break. It turned out to be the right decision. The hotel was great in every aspect.
Everything was ready and check in was quick and friendly. The room was a good size with floor to ceiling windows and a remote controlled blind for privacy. The bed was a King and had nice linens and huge padded headboard. TV was good and there was a chair and footstool it you didn't want to sit in bed to watch. The bathroom was lovely, walk in shower big enough for two, nice vanity (although all hotels seem to be renovating bathrooms without providing drawers or cupboards for toiletries - why? Don't they realize that women may want privacy with some items? Must have been designed by a man!)). Cupboard space for clothes was large and a safe was provided too. We didn't use the mini bar as there are lots of shops in the vicinity to buy coffee, drinks, milk, etc. You can't walk anywhere in Seattle without tripping over a coffee shop.
We had room service breakfast one morning as a treat. Good service. I was impressed as I had ordered a glass of champagne and they opened a new bottle right in front of us for one glass. Take note Food and Beverage Manager of the Westin DC!
There is a booth provided in the lobby so you can check your flights, plenty of bell boys to help you with luggage and the concierge was helpful in providing maps, restaurant bookings, etc.
Easy walking distance to Pike Place Market, the Monorail, great choice of restaurants and usual downtown shops. Conference venue just around the corner too. Only half an hour to the airport by taxi.
We are going to return to Seattle soon for a weekend with our teen and we will be booking at the Grand Hyatt again.
