“Ritz has wonderful customer service!!!!”

We booked a "special occasion" package for my husband's birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were more than pleased with the service we received. We were given a room on the 25th floor with a view down Peachtree Street. All of my requests that I had made online were met. Extra pillows, champagne and strawberries waiting for us, etc. etc. The room was beautiful, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Turndown service was completed at the time I asked for. Concierge was more than helpful. We had access to the club lounge - super nice staff there! The Ritz made our special occasion one to remember!

“Great Stay”

The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta

Jun 4, 2008

My husband and I were in Atlanta for a wedding in Decatur, and chose to stay at the Downtown Ritz in order to make our trip a nice get-away for us, but at the same time, an easy commute to the wedding and rehearsal dinner without getting on an Interstate. We were very pleased with our stay and our location was ideal for what we needed to do while we were in town. The hotel room, food, and staff exceeded our expectations. We were very happy with our choice.

We stayed in a renovated room on a high floor. It was spacious, attractive, and extremely clean. They were doing some renovations still, but it did not bother us. We did hear guests (a crowd of at least four) laughing in the room next to us after returning from the wedding in Decatur, but they stopped by 11 pm so we did not need to call the Front Desk to complain. It would have bothered us if it had continued due to the fact that there were several guests in the room and the laughter was annoying. Once a few people left, we never heard anyone in that room til before check-out, and it was no longer an issue.

We had breakfast all three days, and afternoon tea service. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the high tea ranks as one of my best tea experiences. The breakfast off the menu was average, but it may have been hard to compete with the breakfast buffet.

The staff were always friendly and helpful. We certainly felt home at this hotel. I highly recommend it if you need to be in the downtown area. It certainly met our needs. As previous reviews have mentioned, the area is not the greatest since a safe house is just two blocks away from the hotel, and downtown kind of becomes ghostly at night aside from the Hard Rock and a few other restaurants. With that said, I felt 100 percent safe at this hotel, and they have a wonderful security system in place. It's just not an area that I would want to walk around in at night even though people were doing so. I would prefer midtown followed by Buckhead if I were just sightseeing and eating in trendy restaurants for my stay.

We only had a few glitches such as an unexpected wake up call at 8:15 am on the first morning there. My husband was not happy. We didn't complain because we realized later that probably needed it in order to make breakfast, but we didn't order it. On the last day, the housekeeping staff forgot to restock our coffee and condiments.

Overall, I rank this is a great stay. I would stay there again if I needed to be in Decatur, and wanted something nicer than a Holiday Inn or downtown.

“Excellent 1st Anniversary Stay”

The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta

5 of 5 stars
Atlanta, GA
May 27, 2008

My wife and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend for our first anniversary of being married. We had our wedding reception at this location last year and it was perfect. The stay was excellent, we received a Renovated Room located on the 24th floor. In my opinion, we did not care for the new decor - we personally love the Victorian theme that the Ritz Carlton is known for. I believe the victorian theme makes a the Ritz Carlton so "Ritzy" in the first place. We had the Club Lounge given to us complimentary, which was a nice bonus (although it was temporarily moved to the 3rd floor). Overall and excellent stay. The Ritz always goes above and beyond the call of duty when we are in house.

“Ask for a renovated room”

The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta

4 of 5 stars
New York City
May 6, 2008

My first room was (as requested) on a high floor (24, I think). The minute the bellperson left the drilling over my head begun. I called the front desk and they admitted yes, they are renovating above me. I asked to be moved to a floor without the drilling. It took a while and it seemed like a hassle but it was finally arranged. The manager who took care of this said: I would lilke to take care of you for your trouble. So I said suggest something. She said I could either give you access to the concierge lounge or comp your next stay. I said, how about breakfast instead - since I have no plans to return - and she said fine. I got breakfast for two (even though I was alone) and lunch for two (which I couldn't use) which I found adequate compensation for the hassle. I did meet a couple on the 24th floor who were very upset about the drilling; they were staying put but they had that stay comped for their trouble.

I thought the first room was just fine (other than the drilling) but the new room (on 6 I believe) was recently renovated and gorgeous.
in fact, it wasn't quite finished - no mini bar yet. If you have the choice, forget the view and ask for a renovated room.

Everything else in the hotel was fine. The staff really tried to go out of their way to be friendly yet professional. The neighborhood at night is not good.

“Quick family trip”

The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta

May 6, 2008

This was a quick family trip. We were wanting to go to the Fox and downtown Atlanta. We booked the Ritz Carlton and LOVED it. My cousin left her stuffed animal in the cab and not only did the cab driver bring it back, he was able to describe what we looked like and the front desk clerk figured out who it was. We were impressed. She personally brought it to our room. Everything was wonderful!
