My husband and I went to Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus June 2 through June 5. This was our first experience in an all inclusive resort. I was a bit leary of what kind of a hotel I would find. I have to say we couldn't have picked a more beautiful hotel. I was impressed from the moment we arrived. We were greated immediatly and never touched our bags. I was given a ride in a golf cart to my room. The cleanliness of the room and the entire resort was impeccable. I looked hard to find anything in need of repair, cleaning or painting, but found the entire resort in top condition. The staff was very friendly and ready please. However, when we requested a room with a view of pool, our request was not met. The front desk clerk stated with a smile that our room was great and in a quiet location, but would not change it. She was right, the room was fine and the view didn"t really matter. The room was tastefully decorated with dark wood doors and was spotless. The bathroom was also beautiful with marble shower and sink. The bed was ok, but comfortable enough. The grounds of the resort were plush with vegetation everywhere and very well manicured. The appearence of the lobby and the corridors were exceptional and again spotless. The food and drinks were good, not great. We were always able to find things we liked to eat. I found the steak was very close to the steaks in the US even though many reviews stated it was not the same. We were able to make reservations every night for dinner, although we were told we were only allowed 1 night for a 3 night stay. As stated in previous reviews, the frozen drinks could be "more frozen" , but the flavor was good. Overall, the things many reviews report as negative are true, but when compared with the positives of this resort, pale in comparision. Our first experience at an all inclusive was very positve and we would definitly return to this resort.

Just returned from IHD on June 1st.This was our 7th trip to IHD.As usually we have a great trip.Our room was perfect-big thanks to Mr.George!Our made did perfect job.Room was always very clean.Sometimes room was not clean till 4 PM (not big dill for us )The mini bar was re-stock every day.Food was OK,but compare to previous years we have not much choices in everything.Quality of the food was good (not any one stomach problem)The shows also getting down compare to our last visits(mostly audience participation) Dancers last years also was much better.Almost all Star Friends are new,there are trying to do the best,but.... . I was so surprised-NO live misic in the lobby bar,NO live music during Paella Party on the beach,no live music during the evening shows-all this WAS before. It's very offensively.I hope Iberostar management will read this review and will do something to improve.Iberostar our favorite chain and we was thinking to return in winter again,but I'm not sure now.Any question? Will glad to answer.

Me and my boyfriend are both young, we were on our first vacation as a couple and we were both excited to relax at the iberostar. We knew we were going to be in paradise, but what we didnt know was how absolutely incredible the place was going to be. It blew our mind. The scenery was outstanding with flamingos, swan and other exotic animals roaming around the lobby area, the place was kept up and always clean, the rooms were nice, the beach was unreal with white sand and clear waters, small waves.. and the pool area was unlike any other place ive ever been to. The employees were all respectful and hilarious mostly. the Star Friends were the entertainment team there and they were very personable and a lot of fun and they try to get everyone involved in daily activities.The food was pretty good, cant complain -- yet i do think that was the only aspect of the place that could have been better. There are a few restaurants that we went to. The steak house is one i wouldnt recommend but the Japanese i would highly recommend along with the Colonial or French restaurant. There were so many different people there of all ages and for every age they have more than enough activities if you want to do something else other than lounge around all day (what we did mostly). We booked two spa appointments and got hour long massages that were great. Cheap too! 50 dollars for an hour massage.I have been to many resorts in the dominican republic in my past, i was impressed by this resort more than any other place ive ever been. Thank you to the managers at iberostar for all their hard work, book this vacation! you wont be sorry!

I love this area of the Dominican Republic. I have stayed at Sunscape Casa Del Mar almost 2 years ago.

I got a great deal on this property and from the pictures I had seen on this website, I wanted to stay here.

Short & Sweet :

I could not find anything I hated about this property. The Beach, Pool, Grounds, Food, Entertainment, Bar, and Service were all perfect. This place was probably the best all inclusive food I have ever had. They had it everywhere and you could get it all the time. The pool was huge and beautiful, great pool bar service. Great drinks, and you do not have to wait at any bar for service. They are on top of things. The beach was probably one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The hotel room was average, I stayed in building 3, I think, it was close to the pool & beach. Great view of the pool and my AC always worked. Bathroom was nice with a big tub and shower. Room was always spotless and they have turndown service each night. They also have 6 pink flamingos that roam the property, that was very cool. The gift shops on the resort were very reasonable, they had reasonable prices compared to any other resort I have been to (I think this was my 7th resort I have been to). I can't think of anything else I can share.

I know that this was a very nice resort, one of the best I have been to. Iberostar has it going on with the resorts. If I go to Mexico in the future, I will be staying at an Iberostar.

FYI to the American Travelers, this resort and part of the country caters to the European Clients. There are very few Americans that go to this resort. I noticed that all the clients/guests were very nice, there is just the language barrier. It was nice speaking with fellow Americans, and my friends from Canada & the UK.

I would like to say hello to my friends from Iowa & Boston & New York.

Would I return to this resort......YES.
