The hidden North is naturally beautiful, both above and below the water. The area's rugged terrain holds dense rainforest and wildlife that have remained relatively untouched and unspoiled. The main areas are Savusavu, on Fiji's second largest island (Vanua Levu), Taveuni Island, and the outer islands of Qamea and Matangi. Main islands are:

Vanua Levu, who's main tourist area is Savusavu. Savusavu is a pretty marina town, and the area has deep bays, rugged coastlines and a dense interior. There are bubbling hot springs, towering palms, a beautiful harbour, black pearl farms, interior rivers, picture-perfect bays, and the pace can be as excited, or relaxed, as you choose.
Taveuni is the flower in Fiji's crown of island groups. It is Fiji's garden island, graces by blooms and colorful birds. It's a land that's lush and beautiful, with both black and white sand beaches, high, crashing waterfalls and gorgeous coral gardens. Taveuni is world-renowned for snorkeling and diving, playing home to the famed Rainbow Reef and its undulating soft corals. It's a popular romantic escape from the tourist crowds.
Qamea and Matangi islands are offshore from Taveuni. They host lovely white white sand beaches, stunning bays and great diving opportunities. They are home to two upscale resorts that offer guests private and personal retreats.
