The Atlantic City Boardwalk is not what it used to be. On a sunny summer day, it is a great place for a stroll or to buy some peanuts. The nostalgia is pretty much gone, taken over by redundant "cheap" stores offering poor quality merchandise aimed at visitors. Little is left of Steel Pier. They have an amusement pier here now that offers a few rides and some midway games. The few arcades that are on the boardwalk are just that, arcades. Most of the boardwalk itself is in good shape, and it is very pleasant to walk along. They have recently reintroduced horseback riding along the beach during limited months. The boardwalk is definitely worth strolling, but whatever you do, DON'T FEED THE PIGEONS!!!!! They're surprisingly aggressive.
